Studies in art and architecture, combined with a lifelong love of photography, led Nic to his early career in documentary, underwater and aerial camerawork, moving on to the main units of feature films and television drama. He worked up through the department to Director of Photography, winning several festival awards along the way.

Most recently, Nic has completed 2 episodes of BBC series Vigil and 6 episodes for Sony series Outlander, released across 2023 & 2024.

In parallel with his main unit work, Nic has continued to lead additional and specialist units for a number of prominent directors including Nia DaCosta (The Marvels), Reed Morano (The Rhythm Section), Barry Levinson (Rock The Kasbah), Neil Jordan (Ondine & Byzantium), Oliver Parker (St Trinians 2), Guy Ritchie (Rock’n’Rolla) and Dominic Cooke (On Chesil Beach).
